And no, of course I'm not talking about my husband ;)
Some newborn babies are poop-machines and some aren't. Lazy Baby is a total all out poop machine. I don't think I've ever gone through so many diapers. And the generic ones just don't seem to work with this boy. Generics worked fine on the other two - but this one somehow manages to pee right through them, right out the back. After a week of going through 5 or more outfits a day I broke down and shelled out the $ for name brand diapers.
And let's just say that I re-learned my lesson about changing babies on changing pads around day 3 or so... after going through all the clean bassinet sheets within a few hours...
Well, you would think that I would be a little more savvy about these things, this being my 3rd baby - all co-sleepers (thank God we got the 2 older ones into their own beds a few months ago, 'cause a King size still wouldn't have big enough for that kind of crowd!). But really, I should have thought about putting down a changing pad on the bed... of course that wouldn't have saved my arm or hand...but it would have saved my having to strip the bed and soak, then launder the sheets.
I will definitely be taking a changing pad to bed with us tonight!

Oh man! I remember those days all too well!
If you are nursing it is sooo much worse! They just go ALL the time.
Luckily this faze won't last forever;)
I remember those days all too well. My little dude was a poop machine too!
What a great way to wake up.
The diapers that worked best on my son were Luvs. They aren't generic but aren't the price of pampers and huggies. Good luck!
Hi! Stopping in from SITS roll call to visit and say hello.
Oh gosh - I can't even imagine!! I don't think my son slept with me much - he was a really hard sleeper (thankfully!) and took to his own bed well. I can't even imagine a bed full of little ones AND a newborn!
I'm praying for ya on that shopping trip LOL! Hope it worked out okay.
Huggies was the only ones that would work for me! Totally feel ya!
I had to go with name brand (Pampers in this family) too...we tried generic and it was like a poop explosion every time he went lol.
Oh boy can I relate to this story! My little one has so many ridiculous poop moments that we've started calling him the Poop Master (http://mandthe2henrys.blogspot.com/2009/07/warning-proceed-with-caution.html)...and even the best brand name diapers don't contain his messes. And yes, breastfeeding makes it WAY worse. One day, it'll all get better...right?
Enjoyed the post! It helps to know I'm not the only one doing 18 loads of poopy laundry a week!

I am a big believer in the changing pad....certainly helps keep the sheet-changing in check. I think I'll pick up a few more to have on hand when I'm at Target next time......our new baby is due in less than 3 weeks, so I will soon be reminded about just how much poop a newborn can produce!
